I Remember That Ep 4: Doo-Wop

Once upon a time singers on rock records needed to know how to sing before stepping in front of a microphone. Once upon a time there was no fancy software to correct off-key notes or errant instrumental passages or add echo and warmth because musicians and engineers needed help to make a record. No one knew what auto-tune was, or ever heard of a Beiber. Once upon a time . . . With episode 4 of our oldies show I Remember That, we listen to Doo-Wop – great music, sung and recorded with perfection, that could slowly sway or rock the bobby sox on the dance floor. It was before The Beatles when your grandma and grandpa used to go out together and drink Cokes from the soda fountain at the Rexall.
